Former Queen of Spain Sofia85, has been released from the hospital.

Queen Sofia was hospitalized earlier this week with a urinary tract infection. He spent a good four days in the hospital in total.

Fresh photos of the queen leaving the hospital have been published in the media. In the pictures, the queen seems healthy and happy. He walked into the car himself and waved to the photographers. The queen also flashed a wide toothy smile.

According to the Spanish media, it was the first time since 1968 that Queen Sofia had to be hospitalized. Last time she was in the hospital giving birth to her son, King Felipe.

King Felipe visited his mother in the hospital on Wednesday. According to the Hola news site, King Felipe drove himself to the hospital and stayed with Sofia for about half an hour. Also Felipe’s sister the princess Elena has spent a lot of time with the Queen in hospital.

The king commented on his mother’s health to the Spanish media present from his car in a good mood.

– He is doing very well. He is happy and is looking forward to going home as soon as possible, Felipe told the press earlier.
