Queen Elizabeth II has a new corgi

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has a new corgi puppy, which she received after the tragic death of one of her pets, the website of “People” magazine reports, referring to a publication in “The Sun” newspaper.

According to the tabloid, the 6-month-old quadruped is a gift to the 95-year-old queen from her son Prince Andrew and his daughters – Princesses Beatrice and Eugene.

Her Majesty received the puppy last Thursday, the date on which her late husband, Prince Philip, would have turned 100. The Duke of Edinburgh died on April 9 at the age of 99.

The news of Elizabeth II’s new corgi comes just a month after the death of Fergus, one of two puppies given to the queen while her husband, Prince Philip, was in hospital earlier in the year.

Fergus was rumored to be a Dorgi, a cross between a dachshund and a corgi, and to be named after the Queen’s late uncle, Fergus Bowes-Lion, who died during World War I.

The other pet that was given to Elizabeth II together with Fergus was named Mick – in her favorite place near Balmoral Castle.

In addition to Mick and the new puppy, whose name is not disclosed, the British monarch has another dog – Dorgito Candy.

Over the years, the queen has bred more than 30 dogs. Her newest pets are believed to be the first, not direct descendants of Susan – the first corgi given to her for her 18th birthday in 1944 by her father, King George VI, writes BTA.

After the death of her Dorgi Vulcan late last year, Her Majesty raised only Candy.
