Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do and the quarantine authorities are planning to perform a corona 19 diagnostic test by collecting a sample of a patient A (50s) hospitalized at Goesan St. At Goesan St. Mary’s Hospital, there were 22 cumulative confirmed cases until the 17th after two corona19 confirmed cases related to the hospital occurred on the 15th.

After the outbreak of the confirmed case, Mr. A was diagnosed as’negative’ in the full Corona 19 test conducted on patients and medical staff in the hospital. Before Mr. A died, he showed symptoms of underlying diseases such as pneumonia and diabetes, but a diagnostic test was done to determine the association with Corona 19. Goesan St. Mary’s Hospital was also diagnosed with Corona 19 after a patient in her 80s died on the 16th.

Mr. A was a patient at Eumseong Somang Hospital and was transferred to Goesan St. Mary’s Hospital on the 11th of last month and stayed in the room where the confirmed cases occurred. It is reported that the two hospitals signed an agreement, and patients at Eumseong Somang Hospital received outpatient treatment at Goesan St. Mary’s Hospital.

As of the 19th, Eumseong Somang Hospital had 36 corona19 confirmed patients, and there is a possibility that the infection occurred during the outpatient treatment exchange process, including patients who went to and from Goesan St. Mary’s Hospital. As a result of an epidemiological investigation at Eumseong Somang Hospital, it is possible that infections in the hospital increased rapidly as it was confirmed that shared toilets and bathrooms were used for each floor unit ward.
