Qualcomm regularly releases an improved version of a popular chipset. In recent rumors, the manufacturer is also planning to do this with the Snapdragon 865 processor, and Qualcomm plans to introduce the “Snapdragon 855 Plus” next month, IceUniverse said.
Tech-savvy Digital Chat Station previously announced that Qualcomm plans to introduce the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor in the third quarter of this year. IceUniverse now announces that the introduction will take place in July. To make the introduction in July possible, everything has to go according to plan. Otherwise, the introduction could still be delayed, says IceUniverse.
The Snapdragon 865 Plus is not a very big upgrade. It is actually a souped-up version of the current Snapdragon 865, with the fastest core supposedly clocking at 3.09 GHz. Several manufacturers will start using the processor in flagship smartphones that will hit the market in the second half of 2020.
