Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the withdrawal of US military forces and their allies from Afghanistan as an “escape.”
He stressed that the events in this country directly reflect on the security interests of the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, many of which have a common border with Afghanistan.
“Now the organization is faced with the task of taking a common, coherent line, taking into account the serious risks arising from the escalation of the situation in Afghanistan,” Putin said in a video link to the leadership meeting in Dushanbe.
According to the Russian president, the transitional government in Kabul cannot be called representative, but ways must be sought to work with it.
