Great concern for Jürg Marquard (74). As SonntagsBlick reported yesterday, the successful media manager is in the intensive care unit of the Hirslanden clinic in Zurich. Marquard suffers from so-called sepsis, an inflammatory reaction to an infection. Blood poisoning spreads all over the body and attacks the organs. At Marquard, this also affects the heart valves. Their function was limited, the multimillionaire had to undergo open heart surgery recently.

Marquard’s family – wife Raquel and his children – as well as his friends and Bijan Khezri, CEO of Marquard Media, who visit him every day, are confident that everything will go well. The health of the legendary publisher has been burdening his environment for a long time. In the past three years, Marquard has been fighting sepsis several times – even one morning at the beginning of the year. At that time, when he woke up, his wife noticed that her husband was lying unconscious in his bed. He was brought to the hospital in nearby Samedan GR and flown to Zurich by helicopter. The cardiac surgery mentioned later followed.

Marquard not at second “Lion’s Den” season
Marquard will recover from his illness in the next few weeks. Therefore, he does not take part in the second season of the TV show “The Lion’s Den”. CEO Bijan Khezri holds the position in his company. “For me, Jürg is a strong fighter and I am very confident that he will soon be back in the company with more strength,” said Khezri.

Other acquaintances join the wishes. «Jürg and I have been friends for 50 years. We agreed two weeks ago that I would visit him in the studio of The Lion’s Den. But I never got there. Now I’ve found out what happened. That is bad. I hope that Jürg will get well and that we can catch up on our dinner soon, »says TV and musical director Max Sieber (77).

“I hope Jürg’s fighting heart is strong enough”
Moderator and racing driver Christina Surer (45), with whom Marquard lived between 1999 and 2003, says to BLICK: «Over the past few years, I have always been very happy to see that Jürg is happy and to be happy to see how his children develop , It hurts my heart that he is so bad now. I wish Raquel and his children a lot of strength during this difficult time and hope that Jürg’s fighting heart is strong enough. I am with him and his loved ones in my thoughts. »

«Would like to go back to the golf course with him soon»
Entrepreneur Hausi Jungsegger (80) says: «We often sat together in the tower in St. Moritz and had a lot of great conversations. And it was I who taught him how to play golf almost 20 years ago. He really had talent. I should have stepped in for him on the show ‘The Lion’s Den’, but I didn’t want that. Also because of him. I think of him often, I only wish him the best. Above all, a lot of strength and health, because I would like to go back to the golf course with him soon! »
