Psychiatrist: Breivik still as dangerous as at the attack | Inland

Court-appointed Rosenqvist evaluated the 42-year-old extremist several times over the past ten years. According to her, the risk that Breivik will commit violence again if he is released has not changed during that time.

Breivik, 42, gave the Nazi salute on the first day of the hearing on Tuesday and had right-wing extremist messages in his hand. He claimed during that hearing that he had been radicalized online by right-wing extremists and had been “brainwashed” into committing the attack. He said he would continue to fight for white supremacy and National Socialism, but in a peaceful way.

The terrorist also tried to be released under conditions last year. The judges then rejected it. If the court does this again now, the Norwegian can make another attempt next year. The ruling is expected in a few weeks, according to Norwegian media.

Breivik detonated a car bomb in the Norwegian capital Oslo on July 22, 2011, killing eight people. He then went to the island of Utoya and shot 69 people there. Teenagers were mainly present on the island for a youth camp of the Norwegian Workers’ Party. He was sentenced to 21 years in prison in 2012, which can be extended as long as he is considered a danger.
