Jakarta

Shin Tae-yong will soon train the Indonesian national team again in the near future. PSSI guarantees the freedom of the South Korean coach to choose players according to the criteria.

For a while PSSI is still waiting for the roadmap or the latest work program from Shin Tae-yong. After that, he will be called to discuss his new program before returning to lead the training.

Nearby, there is an agenda for the selection of the U-19 Indonesian National Team which will be Shin Tae-yong’s first job in Indonesia. There are still 44 players who have participated in virtual training in mid-May to mid-June.

“The names of U-19 players who will be called later, everything is in the hands of Shin Tae-yong. It will be narrowed because there are still 44 names,” Acting Secretary (Acting) PSSI Secretary General, Yunus Nusi, told reporters.

“For the (national team) senior will also be handed over to him too, so we are waiting for his arrival. He is also the head coach, so the national team program from Shin Tae-yong. So he promised to give the program a roadmap,” he added.

Previously Shin Tae-yong had complained about the ability of the Indonesian national team which he said was filled by selected players Indra Sjafri. PSSI ensure that it will give freedom to the 49-year-old coach in choosing his players.

At that time the Indonesian national team was defeated 1-4 by Persita Tangerang in a trial match. At the same time Indra Sjafri had already switched professions to become the Technical Director of PSSI after being an assistant to the Shin Tae-yong training team.

“There is no intervention, he already has names. All of Shin Tae-yong’s responsibilities to determine names. There is no other interference because he is the head coach,” he concluded.
