In the final phase, the Parisians even had to continue with nine men due to an injury from Juan Bernat. Coach Thomas Tuchel had already used three substitution moments at that time. Nevertheless, Julian Draxler headed his team to the win in the 93rd minute.
Mitchel Bakker had a basic place at PSG and played for over an hour. Tuchel had to do without the corona virus infected Kylian Mbappé and the suspended Neymar, Leandro Paredes and Layvin Kurzawa.
PSG started the season with defeats against PhD candidate RC Lens (1-0) and Olympique Marseille (0-1). Thanks to the victory over Metz, the national champion climbs to 15th place in the rankings.
