Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) came back from Barcelona at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium and thus sealed their ticket to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Mbappé with a double, Vitinha and Dembelé, were the stars of Tuesday night for the French.
The first of the game came around 12′, with the leading role of Rafinha, who, after a diagonal assist from Lamine Yamal on the wing, the Brazilian scored the first of the night in the French net, this goal put the team ahead Xavi’s team with the aggregate 4-2.
However, around half an hour into the match, Barcelona was left with one less on the field after the expulsion of Ronald Araujo, who knocked down Barcola from behind.
At 40′, with the inexorable ‘law of the ex’ by Dembelé he converted the 1-1 which meant 4-3 in the series and put his team one step closer to tying the match in Spain.
The first half ended with a 1-1 draw and a 4-3 aggregate draw in Montjuïc in favor of Barcelona.
The second section saw a PSG more deployed on the Barça area, and with the insistent intention of doing damage in the Barça area, Luis Enrique’s team got the tie from Vitinha at 54′, due to the change of pace by Barca.
The tie was broken at 61′, when Joao Cancelo committed a foul on Dembelé and the maximum penalty was declared for Mbappé to carry out the action.
Mbappé’s double was present in the 89th minute, with a double save from Ter Stegen, but the PSG figure sent the ball into the net to define the 1-4 (aggregate 4-6).
PSG’s comeback at Montjuic was marked by two key moments to give the rival team the advantage: the expulsion of Araujo on the half hour mark and the departure of Lamine Yamal at 34′, for Iñigo Martínez, aspects that left the team discovered and favored those led by Luis Enrique.
