We arrive quietly in June 2020 and everything we know about PS5, which is due out at the end of the year, is that it has a new controller, that it is going fast, that its audio has been redesigned and that the demo of Unreal Engine 5 turn of god fire on it. And that’s about it. Sony has clearly opted for the “you shut up and wait” strategy, which it continues to apply literally through its website. Updated overnight, PS5 official site now displays a few more sentences. Laconic “We are not yet ready to completely reveal the new generation PlayStation”, the page web has now moved to a slightly more extensive display.
Sony assures us for example that the PS5 East “swift like lightning” : “Harness the power of a custom processor, graphics card, and SSD with integrated I / O that redefine what a PlayStation console can do.” It sucks hard, but it doesn’t really risk speaking to those who dabble in the technique. To these, as to the others, PlayStation promises “breathtaking games”, of “incredible graphics” and of “new features“. What are they? Mystery mystery. Surely something to do with the immersion touted on the site: “Discover a more intense gaming experience with support for tactile feedback, adaptive triggers and 3D audio technology.”
