PS3 Store closure seems to be causing problems already

Sony’s decision to completely close the PlayStation Stores for PSP, PS Vita and PlayStation 3 to new purchases was one that drew a lot of criticism from almost all quarters. But a ray of hope was that for content you already owned, nothing would actually change. However, reality already seems to indicate otherwise.

After all, players worldwide are reporting that games like Dante’s Inferno, Castlevania: Lords of Shadows, LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Journey and Payday 2 no longer receive patches once installed via disc or PSN. Many games are therefore in a significantly worse condition than with all the extras and in some cases partly unplayable. Enough reason for gamers to get angry, as this is not in line with what Sony has promised.

As the PlayStation manufacturer has not yet responded, it is not possible to say with certainty whether the problem with the patches is an error or not. For example, it could be related to shutdown preparations that temporarily confuse running processes. And a problem in a data center or a bug cannot be ruled out immediately, especially when the circumstances are considered. After all, by no means all games have been affected and in some cases only a specific version (physical or digital) or region has been affected. This would be an extremely strange policy. Searching manually for updates unfortunately also yields nothing.

Since it is likely that this problem will be remedied, it does not seem necessary for Sony to immediately put on the fine cloth. On the other hand, it is understandable that gamers have little faith in the company in this area. After all, with the closure, the time it has given to the closure and the communication to developers around the closure, it has repeatedly shown its worst side and it has proven that it has little interest in everything that still has to do with its old platforms. .

We keep our fingers crossed for good news.
