What preceded it

On Thursday, the Polish Constitutional Court ruled that European law cannot be superior to national law. The European Union reacted very sharply to this decision of the Polish court.

In particular, the head of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, threatened with consequences, and the European People’s Party, which is the largest faction in the EP, said that Poland had taken the path of Polexit, that is, leaving the EU.
