ProSiebenSat.1 separates from CEO Conze

The media group ProSiebenSat.1 changes strategy and corporate management. The group announced yesterday in Unterföhring that the operational business will again focus more on the entertainment sector in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

The focus here is on local and live formats. Among other things, the digital range should be further expanded via the Joyn streaming platform. The existing holdings, which benefited from advertising on the entertainment platforms, on the other hand, are to be “sold in due course”.

Dispute at the top

In the course of this, the previous CEO Max Conze will leave the company. The manager will leave the company with immediate effect, said ProSiebenSat.1. The supervisory board had decided that.

CFO Rainer Beaujean should also act as spokesman for the board. The 51-year-old had only come from the packaging group Gerresheimer in July. The dispute in the management had escalated after several departures from top managers when the longtime deputy chief executive Conrad Albert had to go after critical comments. Conze was brought in by the vacuum cleaner company Dyson almost two years ago.

ProSiebenSat.1 managers Christine Scheffler (HR) and Wolfgang Link (Entertainment) are new to the board.
