Prosecutor General Returns Proposal to Remove Delyan Dobrev’s Immunity to National Assembly

The Prosecutor General returned the proposal to submit a request to the National Assembly to remove Delyan Dobrev’s immunity, the prosecutor’s office announced. Earlier, the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office offered the chief prosecutor to submit the request to the parliament.

The proposal of the SGP is not sufficiently motivated and is not accompanied by the necessary volume of materials, giving grounds for referral to the National Assembly with a request to remove the immunity of a representative, the reasons state.

The proposal, drawn up by a prosecutor from the “Specialized” department of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, was sent to the chief prosecutor at the end of May 2023 in connection with pre-trial proceedings in which the People’s Representative D. D. is accused of intentional bankruptcy in particularly large dimensions, representing a particularly severe case.
