The Porto Santo Camping Park, a space managed by the Porto Santo Development Society, will continue to be closed, due to the impossibility of complying with the restrictions imposed by the health authorities, within the scope of the containment of the covid-19 pandemic. In the case of this infrastructure, the implementation of some fundamental measures is not feasible, such as the difficulty in maintaining social distance and the conditions of safety and hygiene in shared spaces.
Due to the pandemic, the Porto Santo Development Society will then take advantage of this interregnum to schedule improvement and adaptation works. Over the years, the Porto Santo Camping Park has undergone maintenance interventions, taking into account the essentials for its operation, with a view to ensuring the best conditions for its seasonal activity.
It should be remembered that, at the beginning of this year, in March, due to the covid-19 pandemic, this facility was closed, determined by the resolution of the Regional Government and the resolution of the Council of Ministers, Dec. Law No. 22/2020. Therefore, in the context of compliance with the basic rules for the prevention and containment of the pandemic and taking into account the current situation of the campsite, it is not possible to ensure the public health, safety and hygiene measures imposed and approved by the competent authorities, namely the distance between users in common, sanitary and other facilities, so it will remain closed.
This infrastructure can receive 200 to 300 campers in the summer months.
