A natural and harmless product
The agents of the City’s green spaces service use a natural and harmless product (Palmanem) for applicators, residents, animals and plants. This bio-insecticide contains the entomopathogenic (or auxiliary) nematode Steinernema carpocapsae: this nematode kills both the larval stages of the palmivorous moth and the palm weevil.
Once applied, it comes into contact with the pest and enters it through its natural pathways. Under optimal conditions, the infested insect stops feeding very quickly and usually dies between 48 and 72 hours.
