A royal farewell before a historic sporting event!
Princess Charlotte and her father Prinz William shared a sweet video message to wish the Lionesses, England’s women’s soccer team, the best of luck in their upcoming World Cup final against Spain.
“Lionesses, we want to send you good luck for tomorrow,” the Prince of Wales said in the August 19 Instagram clip, which shows him sitting on a bench in a garden alongside the eight-year-old. “We’re sorry we can’t be there in person, but we’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished and the millions you’ve inspired here and around the world. So go out tomorrow and enjoy it.”
Dressed in a white and navy striped t-shirt, denim shorts and white sneakers and holding a soccer ball, Charlotte added, “Good luck lionesses!”
This marks the point at which an English men’s or women’s football team has reached the final of a World Cup since 1966. The game will take place on August 20th in Sydney, Australia.
