Prince Harry is criticized after returning by private jet…

Prince Harry has once again eaten the butter in the British press. The Duke of Sussex returned from his charity polo match on an expensive private jet. And that for a relatively short distance of 1,200 kilometers. Can’t, says royalty biographer Tom Quinn. “This is just incredibly hypocritical, especially after his lectures on climate change.”

The prince collected 3 million euros for charity last Friday during a polo match in the American Aspen. All the money will go to children living in poverty, but also to victims of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in South Africa. Job done, Prince Harry must have thought. But that was not counting The Daily Mail.

The British newspaper told royalty biographer Tom Quinn about the private jet on which the Duke returned to his wife Meghan Markle and his two children in Mendocito (Santa Barbara) after the event. “This is just incredibly hypocritical, especially after his lectures on climate change. He sees himself as a guide to the rest of his world, but his own behavior seems irrelevant to him.”

In two hours – more than 1,200 kilometers away – he was back in Montecito. The private plane – costing 52 million euros – would belong to his friend, millionaire Marc Ganzi. The timing of the trip comes rather unfortunate. Harry previously expressed his concern about climate change. Months ago, he called it “one of the main problems we face.”

In his conversation with Oprah Winfrey for Apple TV, Harry said: “It’s just depressing that our kids have to grow up in a world like this. Houses are on fire or are just under water. In addition, entire forests will be wiped off the map.”

Earlier this week, his father Charles already spoke out about the environmental problems that hang over us all. He called on British companies to commit themselves to the climate and to “go green”. In a statement to the Daily Mail website, Charles said in response to the severe fires that have hit Greece: “We have no alternative. We have to do everything we can and that in the very short period that we have left. Only then can we avoid the enormous climate disasters – which are already showing themselves to some extent.”

This is not the first time Prince Harry has used a private jet. Research shows that Prince William’s brother used a private flight no less than four times in just 11 days.
