Prince Charles has as godparents his uncle Prince Louis, brother of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, and Countess Gaëlle de Lannoy, a sister of his mother, the court said. The baptismal ceremony is led by Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, Archbishop of Luxembourg. He receives assistance from Bishop Leo Wagener and Archbishop Emeritus Fernand Franck, among others.
The christening dress that was used comes from the Grand Ducal family and has previously been used for Charles’s grandfather Grand Duke Henri, and for his sister Marie-Astrid and brothers Jean and Guillaume.
