‘Primary school children back to school in groups’

Primary school students may gradually go back to school from May. This is stated in the advice that the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) issues to the cabinet, reports RTL News. The team, consisting of experts in various areas, is leading in the decision taken by the cabinet on Tuesday evening regarding the corona measures.

The experts would advise that children be returned to school in small groups, spread throughout the day. School holidays should be shortened.

From conversations that the NOS has had, the picture emerges that the OMT has mainly discussed the conditions that must be met before primary schools can open again. A framework has been established for schools to work on preparing for reopening. It would not have been said out loud in the consultation that they can open immediately after the May holiday.

Hospitality, events, care

The OMT would also advise to keep the catering industry closed until at least May 16 and to cancel events until September or October. Until the latter, mayors of major cities had last week already called up.

Healthcare institutions should be given the space to broaden their visiting arrangements so that one or two people can visit, experts say. Museums and zoos could reopen under strict conditions and children up to 12 years old could exercise three times a week without observing the one and a half meter rule.
