So far there have been no disturbances. Counter-protesters lined the route of the march had to remain behind a fence. Participants in the march were protected by the police.
Godfroid himself followed a group of about twenty people, who were on their way to the square where participants of the march gathered. “There they were offered protection from the police in the form of two police cars.”
According to him, it is also important for Hungary that the march went smoothly. “The mayor of Budapest is of the opposition and sympathizes with Pride, But it also doesn’t help Prime Minister Orbán if participants are beaten up. In fact, he can go to Brussels with his head held high, by pointing out how friendly and peaceful it all went.”
