Prices are coming down! – Markets – News Bg

  • In the first week of 2023, the prices of major wheat contracts on world stock markets are falling without exception, experts at the Sofia Commodity Exchange said, BTA reported.

    In the United States, common wheat fell by 12 dollars to 329 dollars a ton, in France it fell by 9 euros to 307 euros a ton and in Ukraine its price fell by 10 dollars to 285 dollars a ton. Quotations for Russian wheat remained unchanged at the level of 305 dollars per ton.

    Corn is also on a downward trend in prices. In the US the drop is 13 dollars to 307 dollars per tonne, in France 10 euros to 295 euros per tonne, in Russia corn is again with zero exchange or 250 dollars per tonne.

    The price of barley in France, which experienced a significant decline in the last month, has now continued more easily – minus 3 euros to 279 euros per ton, in Russia the old values ​​of 272 dollars per ton are once again left . The price of rapeseed on the Euronext stock exchange is volatile and this week it fell by 17 euros to 583 euros per tonne. Crude sunflower oil on the Rotterdam Stock Exchange lost $15 to $1,265 a ton, while the price of refined sugar made a more dramatic comeback, falling $27.10 to $534.70 a ton on the London Stock Exchange .

    At the Sofia Commodity Exchange, wheat quotations are the same as in December. There is an offer of soft wheat from a producer at a starting price of BGN 660/tonne. There are requests to purchase sunflower seeds from one location at BGN 950/tonne. All prices are without VAT.

    Energy carriers were traditionally actively traded on SSB: E5 diesel was sold in a range from BGN 2,280 to BGN 2,864.96/thousand litres, boiler fuel, excluding excise and VAT, at BGN 814.62/tonne. Potassium iodide (tablets) was purchased at BGN 0.48 a piece.
