Pretrial hearing on status of extortion suspect Firli Bahuriformer Chief KPKto Syahrul Yasin Limpo, former Minister of Agriculture, was the place where Firli launched the attack. He asked that the investigation be stopped and his suspect status cancelled.
Firli does not accept being named a suspect in an extortion case by Polda Metro Jaya. In order to cancel his suspect status, he filed a pretrial. Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto became a defendant in Firli’s pretrial.
Attacks on Suspect Status
The day of the pretrial hearing arrived, which was held at the South Jakarta District Court (Jaksel District Court, Pasar Minggu, Monday (11/12) yesterday. Lawyer Firli Bahuri read out the pretrial lawsuit against Inspector General Karyoto. Firli asked that the status of suspect in the alleged corruption case be cancelled.
“Declaring that the suspect’s determination against the applicant is invalid and null and void,” said one member of Firli’s team of lawyers.
Attacks on Photographic Evidence
A photo of Firli’s meeting with Syahrul on the badminton court circulated after the Corruption Eradication Commission stated that the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture had been investigated. One of the suspects in the alleged corruption case at the Ministry of Agriculture is Syahrul.
Lawyer Firli Bahuri said the photo of the meeting between his client and Syahrul Yasin Limpo was only evidence of a meeting. According to him, the photo is not evidence of alleged blackmail.
“There is evidence in the form of photos of a meeting between the applicant and Witness SYL at a sports hall (GOR) and/or badminton court, this evidence is only evidence in the form of indicative evidence that a meeting took place between the applicant and witness SYL, not evidence in the form of indicative evidence that “can prove that the alleged criminal act of extortion and/or receipt of gratuities has occurred,” he said.

He also accused the photo of being taken without permission. He said the photo could not be considered as evidence at trial.
“Because the collection of electronic evidence was not carried out in a halal or legal manner, because it was carried out without the permission and knowledge of the applicant,” he added.
