Presidential election USA 2020: The Democrats’ pre-election dates

Düsseldorf The decision is made in Milwaukee. From July 13 to 16, the US Democrats will hold their nomination convention there (“Democratic National Convention”). Then the party officially chooses its presidential candidate, who will challenge US President Donald Trump in the November 2020 election. But before that, applicants must compete against each other in all states.

The voters only make indirect decisions about the candidates of the US Democrats. The winner of an area code receives the most delegate votes, in some states even all (“The winner takes it all”). The number depends on the number of inhabitants.

The delegates are sent to the Milwaukee convention to elect the presidential candidate. You are bound by the election results in your state. There are a total of 3979 delegate votes, the necessary hurdle for the nomination is 2376.
