President Zelensky Announces New Commander-in-Chief and Reshuffles in Armed Forces of Ukraine

Zelensky introduced the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Headquarters. Also, by decree No. 67, the head of state removed Valery Zaluzhny from Headquarters.

By another decree, Zelensky introduced Syrsky to the National Security and Defense Council. At the same time, Valery Zaluzhny and former Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina were removed from the National Security and Defense Council.

Reshuffles in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Let us recall that this week President Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Valery Zaluzhny from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Alexander Syrsky was appointed in his place; before that he was commander of the Ground Forces.

In addition, Zelensky changed the command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Anatoly Bargilevich was appointed as the new chief.
