“It’s one of the biggest fires we’ve ever seen, and we’ve got a lot of forest management work to do. Clearly, California forest management is very important, and this is now extending to Washington and Oregon,” said president.
“When trees fall, after a short time, 18 months, they get very dry. They really become like a match,” Trump explained. “Water no longer flows through them, which can cause them to explode.”
California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom told Trump that climate change is real and the wildfires in California are getting worse. Trump, a global warming denier and opponent of the Paris climate agreement, later responded. “It’s going to start to get cooler, just watch. I don’t think science knows that.”
