President Sebastián Piñera announced this Sunday the plan “Step by Step Plan Chile recovers”, Designed to boost the economy and create jobs amid the deep crisis arising from the pandemic of the covid-19.
The idea is to recover the 1.8 million jobs lost and the 700,000 jobs suspended by the economic crisis, he declared. The intention is also to promote public and private investment, more to promote MSMEs and modernize the State.
As announced by the president, the plan includes the execution during the years 2020 and 2021 of more than 2,500 projects for 34 billion dollars, something like 27 billion pesos. This will create more than 250 thousand jobs throughout the country.
There will also be incentives and subsidies to recover jobs, with 1 million subsidys and an investment of up to 2 billion dollars.
The aforementioned projects are basically focused on infrastructure, social needs, quality of life and productive requirements.
In addition, he assured that all initiatives will have environmental approval and that one in three projects will build to make Chile a more sustainable country.
Main initiatives
For example, he mentioned that Ministry of Public Works will carry out work on roads, highways, bridges, hydraulic works, rural drinking water system, ports, airports and public buildings.
He Ministry of Transport It will work on the construction and maintenance of bus stops, traffic lights, exclusive bus lanes, traffic control systems and the acceleration of investments in Metro lines and trains.
In Housing and Urbanism, housing solutions for 412 thousand families and investments in participatory pavements are contemplated.
For farming, there will be modernization initiatives and irrigation works, reforestation and strengthening the fight against forest fires.
In Sports, meanwhile, there will be 43 projects, such as the new National Stadium Park, with a view to the Pan American and Parapan American Games; and 24 sports centers Choose Vivir Sano in all regions of Chile.
MSMEs and State
Along with this, he highlighted incentives for small entrepreneurs such as the reduction of the First Category Tax from 25 to 10%, the postponement in the payment of VAT, the depreciation and instantaneous amortization of 100% of the investments in physical assets of the fixed asset and in certain intangible assets.
“Additionally, the plan contemplates facilitating access to working capital and investment capital for SMEs, through subsidies and credits FOGAPE, FOGAIN, PAR, CRECER, REACTIVATE, the latter especially aimed at the tourism, hotel and gastronomy sector. . In fact, as of today, more than 215,000 companies have accessed FOGAPE loans, the vast majority MSMEs, for more than US 10 billion, said Piñera.
Finally, I announce measures to simplify and expedite the permits and requirements to be able to make investments and promote the development of MSMEs, such as the creation of Companies In One Day and at no cost, the reduction of paperwork, the early granting of patents, a GPS for SMEs and the modernization of the Reorganization and Entrepreneurship Law.
