In a speech to the people on Friday, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine announced that Russian saboteur groups had entered Kiev and that Russia planned to kill him.
“We have information that enemy sabotage groups have entered Kiev. So I urge the people of Kiev: be careful, follow the rules of the curfew. I will stay in the government quarter with everyone who needs the work of the central government,” Zelensky said.
The president also announced that his family will remain in Ukraine. “” My family is not a traitor, but a citizen of Ukraine. But I have no right to say where they are now, “Zelensky added.
“According to the information we have, the enemy has marked me as the number one target. My family is the number two target. They want to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the head of state,” Zelensky said.
He also said that, according to preliminary data, 137 Ukrainian citizens – military and civilian – were killed in battles with the enemy on Thursday, but hundreds were injured.
“On our Snake Island, all the border guards heroically died defending it to the last. However, they did not give up. All of them will be awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine after their death,” the President of Ukraine added.
