During a press conference, Reyes reported that, so far this year, there have been about 50 events of demonstrations and blockades in El Estor. During the last two weeks, roadblocks and 24-hour demonstrations have occurred; All of this caused an impediment to the mobility of people, merchandise, emergency and assistance services, as well as general care for the population.
The minister pointed out that in the demonstrations there was violence and the use of firearms against police personnel.
Police presence
In compliance with Decree 9-2021, more than 1,100 personnel from the portfolios of Government and National Defense (MDN), as well as the Public Ministry (MP) They have been running, since last Sunday, proceedings in that town to restore order.
The spokesperson for the Civil national police (PNC), Edwin Monroy, explained that the actions are carried out with total normality, thanks to the support of the population that collaborates with the security forces at the time of the operations.
