Premier Li Qiang met with a delegation of the US-China Business Council – 2024-02-20 17:50:22

/ world today news/ China is willing to work with the United States in accordance with its responsibilities as major countries, to jointly comply with international trade rules and ensure the stability of global industrial and supply chains, Premier Li Qiang said at a meeting on Monday with a delegation of The US-China Business Council (USCBC), led by its chairman, Mark N. Kasper.

China and the US are much more complementary economies, and the essence of their trade relationship is win-win cooperation. At the moment, these relations are facing certain difficulties, which requires both sides to show sincerity, meet, talk and make joint efforts to improve the situation. China and the United States can certainly achieve common development and work together to make greater contributions to a better future for mankind, Li Qiang said.

The Premier also noted that China will continue to expand access to its market, optimize the business environment, ensure that foreign companies are treated equally with local ones, promote fair competition and protect the property rights and interests of entrepreneurs.

Li Qiang congratulated the US-China Business Council on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, which is being celebrated this year, and praised its contribution to improving trade cooperation, bilateral ties and enhancing the welfare of the people of the two countries.

Mark Casper and other members of the delegation said the council supports the development of sustainable bilateral relations, as well as economic and trade cooperation, which they believe will give a huge boost to the growth of both China and the United States. Noting that the Chinese market is critical to increasing the competitiveness of American companies, they stressed that the council welcomes the government’s statements in Beijing that it will deepen reforms and opening up. The American representatives also expressed hope that bilateral relations will develop normally, so that businesses will have greater security for their work.
