ENow is the season of re-releases in the film world. In recent times re-releases starting with Malayalam film Spadikam have spread to other languages as well. Although re-releases in South Indian languages including Telugu are few and far between in Malayalam and Bollywood, several films in Tamil have already hit theaters again. A Malayalam movie is getting ready for release again.
Directed by Alphonse Putra, Premam, which created a huge wave, is getting ready for re-release. Trade analysts tweet that the re-release is in Tamil Nadu. The film will hit the theaters in February. Premam has received massive acceptance in Tamil Nadu, equal to or even beyond Kerala. According to estimates, the film ran for 200 days in Tamil Nadu. So this Valentine’s month, Tamil Nadu is gearing up to celebrate when love returns.
Premam will hit the theaters in 2015. Sai Pallavi, Anupama Parameswaran and Madonna Sebastian played the heroines in the film, which featured Nivin Pauly in the lead role. The film tells the story of the three eras and romance of the character George played by Nivin Pauly. This is none of the films that Malayali cherished by the director Alphonse Putran.
After the release of Premam eight years ago, there was a big trend in Kerala. Sai Pallavi’s pimple-faced face and Anupama’s side-swept hair were celebrated by both men and women alike. George’s black shirt and white shirt made a huge trend in Kerala. Especially in colleges. Starring Krishana Shankar, Vinay Fort, Siju Wilson, Sabari, Soubin Shahir and Ranji Panicker, the film entered the 50 crore club. Unofficial information is that the final collection of Prema is more than 70 crores.
