According to a statement released by the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the red flag was raised at 16:10 on this beach in Ericeira, in Mafra (Lisbon district), after an analysis by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), which revealed “microbiological values above the reference parameters, the water being unsuitable for bathing”.
APA will maintain “water quality monitoring and on Monday” a new reassessment will be made, the statement said.
“If the analysis shows that the values are within normal parameters, the ban will be lifted”, adds the AMN.
