Presidential candidate (capres) number 2, Prabowo Subianto emphasized that he and Gibran Rakabuming Raka would continue what President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had built.
According to him, Jokowi’s government has been successful, especially in managing the economy and peace. However, this does not mean he is a sycophant.
“I am with the Prabowo-Gibran Forward Indonesia Coalition, we are not shy, we are a team that wants to continue what President Joko Widodo has built. But brothers, I am not a sucker,” said Prabowo in the Prabowo 02 Presidential Candidate Dialogue. Subianto with Kadin, at Djakarta Theater, Central Jakarta, Friday (12/1/2024).
Prabowo said that he had lost twice to Jokowi in the previous presidential elections. In fact, he also expressed his sadness at that time. However, he and Jokowi are still able to maintain their friendship.
“I was defeated twice by Pak Jokowi. Well, you guys are laughing, right? Losing is sad, you know. These are Indonesian people, there are friend he laughs sadly,” he said.
“Did you notice? While I was competing in debates or wherever, I was still friends with him,” he continued.
In its history, according to Prabowo Indonesian leaders have the same goal, namely that we want a prosperous and prosperous country. However, with all the ups and downs of global conditions, the strategies used are different. Even though there are many differences in views, according to him, Indonesia should be grateful for the contributions of previous leaders.
“We must respect all these foundations. We must not gradually return to the past, where the priority was the points of difference and the points of incompatibility. We must look for points of growth, points of togetherness. So, we must be aware that “We are destined to be a big country, a country with hundreds of ethnic groups,” he said.
Therefore, according to him, the Indonesian government needs to have the courage to take steps and think big. One of the steps he will take in the future is through a national transformation strategy.
