PPKM Ends Tomorrow: Vaccinations Rise, Cases Slope

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Levels 4, 3, and 2 in Java-Bali and outside Java-Bali will end on 6 September tomorrow. However, it is still not known whether the government will stop PPKM or add a number of relaxation rules in limiting the mobility of citizens this time.

PPKM Levels 4.3, and 2 this week are the seventh extension. Initially, the government implemented Emergency PPKM on 3-20 July in Java-Bali, and 12-20 July outside Java-Bali. Then it was extended with the new term PPKM Level 4 on 20-25 July.

Furthermore, the PPKM was extended for the period of 26 July-2 August, and for the 3-9 August 2021 period. Then it was extended again for the 10-16 August period, and 17-23 August, and again for the 24-30 August period. Thereafter, an extension will be carried out from August 31 to September 6 tomorrow.

As for the development of Covid-19 cases during the six days of PPKM Level 4.3, and 2 compared to the previous six days, it can be seen that a number of developments have improved.

CNNIndonesia.com summarizes some data in the comparison of the six-day period of PPKM Level 4.3, and 2 seventh extensions, compared to the data for the previous six days, as follows:

Positive Cases of Covid-19 Drop

In positive confirmed cases of COVID-19, it seems to have improved because it was observed to decrease. In the period 25-30 August, the cumulative number of additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia reached 71,101 cases. Then in the period from August 31 to September 5, the number of positive COVID-19 cases fell to 49,753 cases.

The development of positive COVID-19 cases in Indonesia is known to have started to experience a downward trend with a consistency of cases below 30 thousand since last August 14, after previously setting a record high that occurred on July 15 with 56,757 cases, which incidentally is the highest number of additions during the pandemic in Indonesia. Indonesia.

Covid-19 Cured Cases Drop

There was a decrease in cases of residents who recovered from COVID-19 infection during the six days of PPKM Levels 4, 3 and 2. In the period 25-30 August, the number of recovered cases reached 137,552 cases, but in the period 31 August-5 September, the number of recovered cases decreased. to 93,924 cases.

The Covid-19 Handling Task Force previously claimed that the decline in recovered cases could not be said to be 100 percent, which was an unfavorable development. Because automatically, if the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 decreases, it will also have implications for the number of residents who will recover from COVID-19.

Death Cases Down

The number of people who died from Covid-19 also decreased. It was recorded that during the period of August 25-30, as many as 4,239 people died, while during the PPKM Level 4.3 period, and the seventh 2nd extension, the number of deaths decreased to 3,370 people.

However, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force previously stated that the cumulative number of Covid-19 deaths throughout August 2021 was still higher than in July 2021. PPKM is known to have been carried out since July 2021.

Testing Up

Quite good developments can be seen when the number of residents being examined has increased. In the period of August 25-30, 657,832 people were examined, then in the period of August 31-September 5, the number of people examined increased to 755,045 people who were examined for six days.

The achievement of the number of inspections of residents for corona virus is still far from the target of 215,306 inspections in a day during the PPKM extension in Java-Bali and 214,802 testing targets outside Java-Bali. If the average in six days PPKM Level 4.3, and 2 fifth extension, then the national testing achievement is only about 125 thousand per day.
