PowerToys get important update with bugfix for new launcher

Microsoft had presented a major update for the PowerToys at the developer conference Build – and has now submitted an important bugfix update. If you couldn’t try the new functions because they weren’t working, you can try again.

The new update to PowerToys 0.18.1 is a pure update for troubleshooting and does not entail any further innovations. It is interesting as there is a serious bug in the newly launched launcher PowerToys Run gave. Beta testers could not use the program launcher because the search results contained an error. That should now be fixed. Other minor bugs with the new PowerToys Run Launcher and with the other tools Keyboard Manager and Fancy Zones have been fixed. All other details about the update can be found on the Project page at Github.

The finished version is scheduled for release in September

Until then, interested Windows 10 users can try the PowerToys as part of the open beta program. It is open whether additional tools will be included in the collection until the autumn release. The project is as Open source has already started and has many followers who regularly send Microsoft new suggestions for features. The range of functions should therefore continue to grow.
