Apple is known for its culture of secrecy internally. But we regularly discover, thanks to a handful of clues forgotten in iOS updates, new information on the brand’s next products. This time it’s the next Powerbeats wireless headphones that are showing up in iOS 13.3.1. Apple is best known in the field for its AirPods headphones and AirPods Pro True Wireless.
The Powerbeats 4 will be connected by a cable
But the brand bought Beats a few years ago, and has since produced earphones without more “sports”. For the moment, these are available in two versions: the Powerbeats Pro which are real True Wireless, and the Powerbeats 3 whose headphones are connected to each other by a cable.
For the rest, this range of products is characterized by a more solid hold thanks to a handle around the ear. According to the visual appeared in iOS 13.3.1, the Powerbeats 4 synthesizes the design of the Powerbeats Pro and that of the Powerbeats 3. They are basically Powerbeats Pro with wire, but instead of putting the cable on the side more visible, version 4 will hide the cable behind the ear.
For the rest, the icon doesn’t give much more info. But these headphones are likely to come with the new Apple H1 chip, which simplifies pairing with Apple products, and provides access to features like “Say Siri” recognition. It is not known when Apple will present these new headphones, but their presence in the latest build of iOS indicates that the company should not be long in revealing them.
