Power Outage in Kyiv Leaves Several Areas Without Electricity

Residents in certain areas of Kyiv experienced a power outage yesterday, causing inconvenience and delays in electric transport. According to comments on a Facebook post by “Kyiv electrical networks,” there was no light in the vicinity of the Taras Shevchenko metro station, along Dnestrovska and Voloshskaya streets. Additionally, Bulakhovsky Street also experienced a blackout, although it was expected to be resolved by 4:00 a.m.

The power outage was caused by the disconnection of four high-voltage substations belonging to DTEK Kyiv Electric Networks at 7:47 a.m. This left residents in Podil, Obolon, and parts of Troyeschina without electricity. However, DTEK promptly restored the power supply within 20 minutes, bringing back electricity to the affected districts.

Despite the restoration of power, electric transport in Kyiv continues to face delays. According to Kievpastrans, trolleybuses and trams are operating with deviations from the schedule. The affected routes include trolleybus numbers 24, 25, 27, 29, 30, 31, 36, and 47, as well as tram numbers 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, and 19 along Iwasyuka Ave, S. Bandery, he. Teligi, Kirillovskaya Street, Jordanskaya Street, and Glubochitskaya Street.

The cause of the power outage and subsequent delays in electric transport is yet to be determined.
