Power cuts in the Marne and the Ardennes following bad weather

Near’around twenty Enedis agents were mobilized, during the night from Saturday to Sunday, to restore power in the Ardennes and Marne municipalities affected by bad weather.

The peak was reached around 1 a.m. In the Marne, 1,424 households were deprived of electricity, especially in the south of the department. The commune of Esternay was the most affected, with nearly 700 homes affected.

The municipality of Vert-Toulon particularly affected

This Sunday morning, 25 homes were still without electricity in the town of Green-Toulon, including the bakery. “The baker arrived around midnight and there was no power so we couldn’t work. All the merchandise, ready-to-cook, was no longer usable this morning”, regrets the co-manager Sophie Collard, ” Usually it’s the busiest day of the week on Sunday, especially at the moment with the galette des rois“, she adds.

At 10 a.m. this morning, Enedis claims to have restored power throughout the village, thanks to a generator.

However, there is still some work to be done. Enedis agents will intervene this Monday, January 10, in the morning, which could provoke “short power cuts“in the municipality according to the company.

700 households concerned in the Ardennes

In the Ardennes, around 700 homes were affected overnight. Two generators were used on the Sedan side but Enedis guarantees that the work will be completed by Sunday.

According to the group, the bad weather did not cause too much damage.
