Many people in the Indische Buurt were without electricity this morning. The power went out due to unknown cause. Last night, this also happened in homes around the Nieuwmarkt.

The power outage in the Indische Buurt was reported for postcodes 1093, 1094 and 1095. Network operator Liander estimated that less than 6,000 households were affected by the outage, which was resolved around 8:00 am.
The power outage in the center has also been resolved, which happened around 3:30 AM last night. People were there for almost three hours without electricity.
The parent company Alliander warned about additional power cuts at the beginning of the summer due to possible warm weather. Whether the heat wave has anything to do with today’s disruptions is not known.
