Post reduces services – Fatherland online

In order to minimize the risk of infection of the entire delivery staff, the delivery of the letter post will be implemented alternately by days and regions from Tuesday 17th March 2020. This means that the southern communities (Balzers, Triesen, Triesenberg, Vaduz, Schaan, Planken) are only delivered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The mail will then be delivered to the northern municipalities on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (Ruggell, Gamprin, Bendern, Eschen, Mauren, Schellenberg, Schaanwald, Nendeln). Under these conditions, delivery takes place in the course of the corresponding delivery day. Due to this measure, an extraordinary delivery will take place on the holiday of Thursday, March 19, 2020 in the northern municipalities. Parcel delivery takes place in the municipalities of Balzers, Triesen, Vaduz and Schaan as usual. In the remaining municipalities, the parcel post is delivered together with the letter post according to the model described above.

The newspaper delivery in the early delivery can still be guaranteed as usual. In the case of addressed newspapers that are delivered in the normal delivery, there will be delays of up to two days in individual cases. In the case of courier services and evening delivery (e.g. grocery orders), there are no restrictions for the time being.

Registered shipments

For the protection of employees and customers, all registered mail and parcel consignments will be delivered in the storage compartment of the mailbox without further confirmation from the recipient. The delivery agent confirms receipt himself with the note «Corona». The receipt of official consignments and paperless cash on delivery must be confirmed by the recipient as before.

Post offices with open counters are temporarily closed, extended opening times for all other open post branches

Since the risk of infection from employees and customers is increased at the same time, all post offices with open counters will be closed from Tuesday, March 17th, 2020. This affects the post offices in Balzers, Triesenberg, Vaduz, Eschen and Ruggell.

The post offices in Triesen, Schaan, Gamprin and Mauren remain open. In order to give customers in these post offices additional access, the opening times in all open post offices are standardized and in some cases extended as follows:

Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (non-stop)

Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Shipments to the Postfcher will continue to be delivered to all post offices. Consignments are available in the mailboxes from 8:00 a.m.

The offer at the postal partners in Nendeln, Schaanwald and Schellenberg is temporarily available as usual due to the maintenance of the basic supply as a grocer.

Adjustments for notified shipments

Due to the temporary closure of post offices, notified letters and parcels from home and post office box deliveries can no longer be picked up at the usual branches. The assignment of notified shipments is regulated as of March 17, 2020 as follows:

· Shipments notified in Balzers and Triesenberg are now to be picked up at the post office in Triesen.

· Shipments notified in Vaduz are now to be picked up at the post office in Schaan.

· Shipments notified in Eschen are now to be picked up at the post office in Mauren.

· Shipments notified in Ruggell are now to be picked up in the post office in Gamprin.

The Post asks for understanding

The measures that Liechtensteinische Post AG is taking and will take are centered on the health and protection of employees and customers, as well as the maintenance of basic postal services. The management of Liechtensteinische Post AG is aware that these measures put a strain on the people, companies and the economy in Liechtenstein. However, those responsible hope that all stakeholders will understand these measures. Swiss Post also appeals in the event of delays in delivery and the limited access network, with the exception of further complaints, so as not to unnecessarily burden the available locations.
