The owner of PO Haryanto, Haji Haryanto, has opened his voice on the controversy surrounding the firing of his son, Rian Mahendra, as director of operations of PO Haryanto. According to Haji Haryanto, his son made a series of mistakes which ended in fatal consequences.
Earlier, Rian’s firing as COO PO Haryanto went viral on social media. Rian admitted that he has been fired since July 2022. According to Rian, the company has released his termination letter to various parties, including employees.
“My termination letter was circulated on July 22 (2022) and was distributed by the company to all employers from the tip of Aceh to the tip of Bali. And it was also posted in garages, posted in restaurants, sent to all employees, thousands all employees have been sent via groups, yes. The goal is to inform them en masse that I no longer work (at PO Haryanto),” Rian said when met by detikOto in Solo on Thursday (5 /1/2023).
To get a different perspective, detikOto also visited Haji Haryanto at PO Haryanto’s garage in Kudus, Central Java. According to him, Rian’s firing could not be separated from the mistakes she made.
“Actually, this was his doing. Since he was little, Rian liked to run away, come and go, come and go. And he, and he did a lot of things that weren’t worthwhile. That money is millions, we earn it with sweat,” Haji Haryanto said when he met with detikOto in Kudus on Wednesday (01/04/2023).
“Yesterday, Mas Rian was fatal, brother. When he escaped, it was fatal. Playing bitcoin, he promised 20% commission to people who lent money. At that time, for several days, Rian could not keep his promise. Even though he owed billions. He escaped “Well, after he escaped, people were looking for him. What I was looking for, I discussed, after all, the name of him is a child. Maybe he can turn into a good person,” continued Haji Haryanto.
“Because I guarded the name (PO) Haryanto, which is already big enough, I paid billions of it (debt). I paid, he said sorry, I forgive you, you are good, you work. I bought Mercy for almost IDR 2 billion , I (I said) please take care of your child,” he added.
“(After the job ended) he (Rian) is still here. He just doesn’t take the order, he plays. He borrows money there, he borrows money here,” Haji Haryanto said.
According to Haji Haryanto, those mistakes were the reason he fired his first son from the position of Director of Operations PO Haryanto.
