After an intense diplomatic work between Italian and Portuguese authorities, the issue of tickets purchased by over 1000 Inter fans outside the away sector has been resolved, so they will be able to watch Porto-Inter tonight, second leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League. The green light applies to all sectors of the stadium, except for one: nothing to do for the approximately 150 Italians who had bought coupons in the Portuguese curve on the canals of the Port. Interisti scattered among the home fans will have to enter without scarves or other clothing that recalls the Nerazzurri club.
In the end common sense prevailed and so did the more than 1,000 Nerazzurri fans who for hours feared the prank of having to stay out of Do Dragao, after having spent money on tickets, travel and even accommodation. The management of Inter, and firsthand the CEO Beppe Marotta took an interest in the question and after a meeting with the Portuguese club and the police of the two countries an agreement was reached.
THE PORT RELEASE
“Considering the number of away supporters expected for the Porto Fc-Inter Fc match on 14 March 2023, Porto Fc, reiterating the information provided in the sales process, informs that: tickets for all sectors of the Estadio do Dragao are exclusive use of Porto Fc fans, with the exception of seats intended for visiting fans and sent to the host club for sale; in this sense, for safety reasons, access to the sports facility will not be allowed to fans of the host club in possession of tickets not purchased directly from Inter FC”.
