Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey Kit: Specially Optimized for Circuits and Faster on the Nürburgring

Porsche offers a Manthey Kit for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS that is specially optimized for use on circuits. The 500 hp (368 kW) GT4 RS with Manthey Kit and brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister at the wheel lapped the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in 7:03.121 minutes. This made it exactly 6.179 seconds faster than the 718 Cayman GT4 RS without the kit. Above all, aerodynamic and chassis components are modified. Pads designed for circuit use are optionally available for the high-performance braking system.

The kit was specially developed for track days and in close cooperation between the engineers at Porsche Motorsport and the Nordschleife specialists at Manthey. The retrofittable, street-legal components are sold through Porsche centers around the world.

At the front of the vehicle, flaps and new air curtains with a wheelhouse gurney and a new carbon underbody with diffusers improve downforce at the front end. The rear wing, which is 85 millimeters wider with a new wing blade and larger end plates, increases downforce on the rear axle. It is adjustable in four stages. In order to be able to withstand the increased aerodynamic forces, the body frame of the boot lid was reinforced with visible carbon. The aerodiscs on the rear wheels, also made of CFRP, reduce turbulence at the rear.

In addition, a special upside-down coilover kit that can be adapted for use on the circuit was developed. The spring struts are four-way adjustable, rebound and compression can be adjusted without tools. The spring rates on the front axle have been increased by twenty percent. The chassis is available in two variants for vehicles with and without a lift system on the front axle. The kit comes standard with a steel braided brake line set. Optionally, there are special racing brake pads. Towing loops are available on request especially for use on circuits.

The kit can optionally be expanded with a specially designed CFRP rear spoiler attachment. The attachment made of visible carbon is placed on the standard tear-off edge of the boot lid. In combination with the larger rear wing, the downforce on the rear axle increases by a further four percent. The performance is underlined visually by the optional carbon fiber wheel arch vents in the front fenders.

The market launch of the kit is planned for December. (awm)
