The Los Angeles Attorney’s Office began the process on Tuesday to try the pornographic actor Ron Jeremy on three counts of rape and another of sexual assault with forced oral intercourse against four women.
If convicted of all the charges, the prison sentence would reach 90 years for Jeremy, who with his nickname “The Hedgehog” has been one of the biggest stars in the porn industry and has a documentary about his life, directed by Scott J. Gill and titled “Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy”.
The allegations investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office include the lawsuit of a 25-year-old woman who claims to have been assaulted in a West Hollywood residence, the Los Angeles Times newspaper detailed.
In addition, two other women – aged 33 and 46 – reported that they were raped in the same West Hollywood bar in separate incidents that occurred in 2017.
Finally, a fourth 30-year-old woman filed a similar complaint for the same crime, allegedly occurring at that location during the summer of 2019.
The Prosecutor General’s Office rejected a fifth complaint, about events that occurred in 2016, due to “lack of evidence”.
According to local media, Jeremy could go to court this week, although it is not the first time that the actor has been accused of sexual crimes.
Rolling Stone magazine published an article in 2017 in which more than 12 women reported that they suffered sexual abuse and assault, some by colleagues and others from the public at performances and conventions.
Jeremy, for his part, denied those accusations that had not yet been brought to court at the time.
“The Police have investigated all the serious complaints and the judges have dismissed them, as have most of the ‘groping’ charges. I have never been charged or spent a day in court for any of this,” said the actor. in 2017.
