The thirty-third edition of the Festival de la China Dulce in Las Marías will be held in the style of servi carro.
Given the situation caused by the pandemic, the event will be known as “The Sweet China Route” and will allow visitors to enjoy the experience from the comfort of their cars.
The long-awaited event will take place on Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and admission is free. The production by Sanabria Events, will begin on highway 119 Km 49.2, along Paseo Adrián Acevedo Cruz and from there the participants will be able to follow a route to visit the different stations where there will be artisans, farmers and small merchants in the area with articles and Chinese made products.
“I am very excited that we can host this event to support the livelihoods of many local farmers and small businesses. This festival is part of our Puerto Rican culture and we will continue to work hard to boost the economy of our people. In addition, we will follow all the recommendations for physical distancing and safety so that the public can enjoy the event without worry and have a memorable experience, ”said Mayor Edwin Soto Santiago.
For his part, producer Alfonso Sanabria added: “We are proud to be part of an event that defends the work of hundreds of farmers. This event goes hand in hand with our commitment to make the best experiences for the Puerto Rican public. We are making history to help many families to reactivate, contributing to the country’s economy and the recovery process after the losses caused by the pandemic ”.
“The Sweet China Route “ will give the public the opportunity to have fun and support the country’s farmers in an event that will maintain the physical distancing recommended by health organizations.
In addition, a team led by the municipal epidemiologist, Dr. Rachel Rodríguez Santiago will guide attendees on prevention and care to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
Similarly, the production will have available “hand sanitizer” in labeled areas and strategically located throughout the route.
It was reported that attendees must wear their mask at all times to collaborate for the health of all participants.
