In the speech after the Angelus, Pope Francis expresses his closeness to the victims of the terrorist attack in Mogadishu
After the recitation of the Angelus, His Holiness Pope Francis greeted the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square and said: “Dear brothers and sisters, as we celebrate Christ’s victory over evil and death, let us pray for the victims of the terrorist attack. who killed more than a hundred people, including many children, in Mogadishu. May God change violent hearts! And we pray to the risen Lord also for those – especially young people – who died last night in Seoul, due to the tragic consequences of a sudden overcrowding.
The Holy Father continued: Yesterday in Medellin, Colombia, the beatification of Maria Bernice Duque Henker, founder of the Young Sisters of the Annunciation, was announced. Her long life, which ended in 1993, gave herself entirely to the service of God and her brothers, especially the young and the excluded. May her apostolic zeal, which pushed her to take the message of Jesus beyond the borders of her country, strengthen in everyone the desire to participate, through prayer and love, in the spread of the Gospel in the world.
