Polish volleyball players have a beautiful dream. Wierfina M is not everything

After 60 years, Polish volleyball players found themselves in the top eight at the world championshipsAnd that’s not all, because Lavarini’s players have a match to play against the Serbs. However, even without this, Polish women can be satisfied with their promotion to the top of the ranking created by the FIVB.

Polish women win at world championships and advance to the top ten of the rankings

Thanks to the good performances of this year’s tournament, the Polish national team moved up to the TOP10 ranking created by the International Volleyball Federation. The recent victory over Germany had a big influence on this, as the FIVB statement is updated after each match.

In 2020 the federation changed the rules of the system and takes into account the results of all official competitions, such as world championships, European championships, Olympic games, Nations League, continental championships or various qualifications for championship tournaments. All this to make the ranking as updated as possible.

TOP 10 FIVB:

  1. Italy – 384 points
  2. Brazil – 383 points
  3. Serbia – 372 points
  4. USA – 365 points,
  5. China – 338 points,
  6. Japan – 310 points,
  7. Turkey – 307 points,
  8. Russia – 278 points,
  9. Dominican Republic – 262 points
  10. Poland – 252 points.

Right behind the Polish women are, among others, the national teams of Holland, Germany, Belgium and Thailand, who have already finished their fights at this year’s World Cup. From the top ten we no longer see the Dominican Republic, eliminated after the second group stage, and Russia, excluded after the invasion of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin’s troops.

Polish women can still struggle to improve their position. The occasion is Tuesday 11 October at 20:30. Stefano Lavarini’s players will then face Serbia in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
