Polio Sub PIN in Blora Targets 88,309 Children
The Blora Regency Government will implement the declaration of the National Immunization Sub Week (Sub PIN) for Polio.

This activity was in accordance with the direction of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, after one case of a child contracting the polio virus (Acute Flaccid Poralysis) was detected in Klaten Regency, recently.

Head of the Blora Health Office, Edi Widayat, S.Pd, M.Kes., MH., said that before the Polio Sub PIN, his party carried out a surveillance check.

Immunization will be carried out in two stages. The first round starts January 15, 2024, and the second round starts February 19, 2024.

He said, in order to prevent the spread of polio, Sub PIN polio will be carried out in 35 districts/cities in Central Java, including Blora Regency.

“It is planned that the launch will be carried out Monday, January 15 2024 by the Regent of Blora, at the Pelangi Ceria Blora Kindergarten,” explained the Head of the Blora Health Office, Saturday (13/1/2024).

The target for immunization is children aged 0-7 years, regardless of previous vaccination status.

“Sub PIN Polio will be given orally (mouth) using the novel Oral Polio Vaccine Type 2 (nOPV2) vaccine,” he said.

The Polio Sub PIN in Blora Regency targets around 88,309 people with a need for two rounds of vaccine, 4,168 vials.

It is hoped that immunization will reduce the risk of spreading or extraordinary events (KLB) of Polio.
It is hoped that this activity can reach a participation rate of up to 95 percent.

This is to build the immunity of children of this age, so that they do not contract diseases that can cause paralysis and attack the nerves.

The Head of the Blora Health Office explained that residents can get immunizations at Community Health Centers, Posyandu, TK/PAUD, SD/MI, and other Immunization Posts.

“To the public not to panic. However, you must still practice clean and healthy living (PHBS). No open defecation, washing hands before eating, and polio immunization. “Complete basic immunization is provided by the government and is free,” appealed the Head of the Blora Health Office.
