Police union chairman on non-active after reports of cross-border behavior

President Gerrit van de Kamp of the police union ACP has been suspended. He is being investigated in the context of reports of transgressive behaviour, the ACP reports.

A statement from the union does not state exactly what the reports mean. Van de Kamp himself was not immediately available for comment by the NOS.

According to the ACP, these are “a few reports that indicate transgressive behavior”. An external agency has been called in to investigate the reports. ACP says that Van de Kamp has been suspended in order to “offer the space to conduct the investigation and to allow both parties to be heard”.

Van de Kamp has been chairman of the ACP since 2004. In that capacity, he has an important voice in the collective labor agreement negotiations with the government. He is also a member of the Social and Economic Council (SER) and vice-chairman of the Trade Union Federation for Professionals (VCP).
